Statistics:
Classroom:Brunner has been named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and is majoring in communications. He plans to pursue a career as a radio broadcaster after a shot at Major League Soccer.
Character:While he was still in high school, Brunner spoke to inner city kids as part of the Stand and Deliver program in Columbus. He continues to be involved with kids through Ohio State's summer soccer camps and area high school camps.
Community:Brunner is a speaker in inner city Columbus as part of the Stand and Deliver program. He would eventually like to start a foundation and use soccer to reach inner city kids, giving them a source of hope, competition and keep them off the street.
Competition:Brunner is an Ohio State tri-captain and one of the top talents on the Buckeyes and one of the top defenders in the nation. Brunner is a candidate for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy and a preseason third-team All-American. After earning first-team All-Big Ten honors last year, he began the 2007 season by earning a spot on the all-tournament team of the Ohio State Wolstein Soccer Classic. He is the Buckeyes' organizer in the back but also comes forward to be a scoring threat on restarts and corner kicks. Brunner owns four goals and four assists so far in his collegiate career.
