Classroom:Peetoom is a two-time Big East Academic All-Star and a five-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (min. 3.0 GPA). He has a cumulative GPA of 3.16 in sport management in the School of Human Services and Health Professions. He has represented the men’s soccer team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) the last two years. With SAAC, Peetoom helped organize the annual Spring Challenge and the inaugural ’Cuse Awards in 2007.
Character:Peetoom is a two-time team captain and one of only 16 players in Syracuse’s 73-year soccer history to earn the honor more than once. He organizes team community-service projects and team events, such as dinners and bowling to promote team unity.
Competition:Peetoom is the only player in school history to be selected as Syracuse’s defensive MVP three times. He has started all 51 games of his Syracuse career and has five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. He was the central defender in 15 shutouts the last three-plus seasons. As a freshman in 2004, he led Syracuse in goals (4), points (8), and game-winning goals (2).
