Classroom:As a junior in 2006, Josten was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America first team and to the Region VIII All-Academic team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America with a 3.89 GPA in civil engineering. As a sophomore in 2005 he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America third team and to the Region VIII All-Academic team. He is a two-time West Coast Conference All-Academic selection and is also a two-time member of the WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Character:Josten leads by example and voices his opinion only when it is helpful to his teammates. He is also humble, shying away from personal recognition to deflect it to the overall accomplishments of the team.
Community:Josten has been active at Gonzaga University in Habitat For Humanity as organized by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. He also has been active in youth and club coaching in his hometown of Idaho Falls, Idaho, assisting his father on a volunteer basis.
Competition:Josten is a College Soccer News second-team pre-season All-America pick in 2007. He is a two-time All-WCC first team, NSCAA/adidas All-Far West Region first team selection in '06, third team in '05. He entered his senior season fourth in Gonzaga career goals (29), tied for seventh in assists (11) and fourth in total points (69). His 12 goals in 2005 and '06 tie for sixth on the single-season list, and he is sixth (29 in 2005) and seventh (28 points in 2006) in single-season points.
