Classroom:Jillian Lodyen is a Comprehensive Science major at Villanova Univerity and has a cumulative 2.975 GPA. Prior to enrollment at Villanova, Jillian was inducted into the National Honor Society while at Vineland High School. She was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. She is on a women's soccer team that has been a recipient of the NSCAA Team Academic Award for nine straight years. She was also honored her with the Charles J. Niely Award for academics.
Character:Lodyen is a team captain and is vocal both on and off the field. As captain, she demonstrates leadership by setting the tone for the entire team. She set goals for herself and because of her tireless work ethic, she strives to achieve each. Because of her contributions to the team, she was selected by the University to represent Villanova at the annual Philadelphia Sportswriters' Banquet. She is the only player in team history to be a first team All-American and one of only two BIG EAST players to be a repeat winner of the conference Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
Competition:Heading into her senior season, Lodyen is a 2007 candidate for the MAC Hermann Trophy Award, Soccer America Preseason All-American, and BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. In 2006 she made NSCAA All-America First Team, NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic Region First Team, BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and All-BIG EAST First Team. And in 2005 she made NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic Region second team. She was also named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week six times and to the league's weekly honor roll five times. She holds the school record for career victories with 40.
