Classroom:Amanda Cinalli is a Pre-professional Studies major, enrolled in the College of Science at Notre Dame, and carries a 3.12 cumulative GPA. She plans to attend graduate school, then medical school, with an interest in emergency practice or pediatrics. She also made the BIG EAST Conference Academic All-Star Team.
Character:Currently serving as solo team captain, Amanda has received two prestigious Notre Dame honors. The Russo Award, presented by the ND Alumni Association, recognized Cinalli for exemplary qualities such as enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, caring nature and great sense of humor. The O'Connor Award honored her for displaying total embodiment of the true spirit of Notre Dame as exemplified by their contributions and inspirations to their respective teams. Cinalli was the second non-senior to ever win this award.
Community:Cinalli donates time and effort to a variety of Life Skills volunteer service programs including work with the Robinson Center, H.U.G.S., St. Joseph's Hospital emergency room volunteer, South Bend Boys and Girls Club, PaintFest, St. Jude's Fundraiser, ACE Clinic, and the team's annual soccer clinic for South Bend/Michiana youth. She is also an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Granger Community Church.
Competition:A two-year member of U.S. Under-21 National Team, Cinalli has a vast amount of athletic accomlishments under her belt. She is a four-year starter and helped the Irish win the national title during her freshman season in 2004. She has been named to the 2007 Hermann Trophy watch list for "National Player of the Year." She earned All-America honors as a junior, and totaled double-digit goals in each of her first three seasaon while being named to the All-BIG EAST Conference team each year. She is on the verge of becoming the 12th ND player ever with 30-plus goals, 30-plus assists and 88 career points. Her versatility as a forward and midfielder helped the 2006 ND team spend most of season ranked #1 en route to NCAA runner-up finish and 25-1-1 final record. She ranked 5th in the nation with 17 assists in 2005 and may break the school record for career games played (103).
